“From my perspective, I think if you look at where we are in our pandemic preparedness currently, it’s really a mixed picture,” said Dr. Paul Biddinger of Mass General Brigham. “We have learned an awful lot of lessons.”

Six people with ties to The Skating Club of Boston are among the victims of the D.C. plane crash, the club's director said. They include two teen skaters, their moms, and two decorated coaches.

Executive director Doug Zeghibe called the loss a “horrific tragedy.”
