As long as the Workingmen demand what is right,
and nothing but what is right,
they are bound to succeed,
because they are simply...

striking for the right boys,
Striking for the right,
Then close the ranks of labor up,
And show the world your might

Aside from just being the best musicwise in the whole genre, another reason i love Panopticon is they write about the first labor movement in the US. Coal miner strikes, things we just never learn or talk about. The early labor and union movement got people routinely outright killed.

Panopticon, my favorite black metal band, put out a new album Laurentian Blue this year. It's Appalachian folk music. at first I was sad. But I'm getting used to this. It keeps getting better and better. It's somber, which takes some getting used to.

There are Star Wars nerds, and there are Star Wars nerds who would know who Mon Mothma is without a Wiki guide. Extra credit if you know her from before the Andor series.

Watching a video narrated by an American who comes upon the common Japanese name, Daisuke. He doesn't know how to say it, but gives it a go of "Dai-SOO-keh." The syllable and character "su" in Japanese is almost always silent. "Dai-s'ke" and "nan des' ka?" are preferrable. It can be pronounced.

Watching Return of the Jedi, and there are some questions. As a kid my favorite character was Luke, but I also always kind of wanted to be Leia. And growing up queer it raises questions. Ideally I think it should be normal that someone aspires to a strong female character. But this was the 80's.

Luke and Leia in Jabba's palace is one of my favorite movie scenes of all time. Luke's "last mistake you'll ever make" feels very prescient.

I still cannot get over how I spent my whole childhood infatuated by Luke Skywalker. I wanted nothing more than to be Luke Skywalker. Come later as an adult, and I find out @markhamillofficial.bsky.social is still a fucking hero. As a kid, I wanted to be you. As an adult, you're still heroic to me.

This band is several friends of mine. And the video feels nostalgic. Seems violent and all, but anyone who's spent half a minute in the scene knows that if anyone in there falls down, people swarm to pick them up and block away danger. It's chaotic, that's the fun. But safety first....

Going through some files, unsuccessfully trying to find a particular photo that I know exists somewhere. Came across this old gem. Man, whatever happened to my Government Issue t-shirt? Also brooding look, hair sweeping over the eyelids, classic fucking me for sure.

Well, well. Pity me that they banned me there anyway. I'd said something about wanting to sacrifice Elon Musk into a volcano, which was deemed "threatening." Perhaps, but the question is would it be worthwhile?

I love SovCit takedowns on YouTube. Someone recently called me out as a hypocrite as an anarchist, like how can I be an anarchist and enjoy media about state power? Well, because state power is a fact. Doesn't matter my opinion, it exists, and some people are hilariously stupid about it.

My mostly death and black metal-listening heart has been writing some cute noise pop / twee songs recently. I miss making music with people and playing shows. It's been so long.

Putting last touches on a song called "You Should've Spoken Up Sooner" that, in my biased opinion, is a banger.

Military personnel sticking to their Title 10 oath is deeply reassuring. Whatever I might think about the military generally, I admire them sticking to principle over being bullied around by a cheap, would-be despot.

If it were any other job, the presidency of the United States of America would be getting a mandatory drug test at this point.

Another thing you might not know, if you're not from a farm, is cows are super affectionate. We had one named Susie, and all I had to do was say "Susie, I love you" and she's come up, get petted and would lick my ear if she could. And cow kisses will knock you the fuck back. They're big.

FWIW, chickens can fly, sort of. If you startle one they will jump into the air they can use their wings to flap for like a hundred feet or more. Maybe not "flying" but they sure as hell use their wings when the want to.

But mostly, they are just the dumbest animals I've ever met.

So much of feminism is growing up the way I was taught. I have a sister, a couple years younger, and what was taught then is what I learned. You respect your mom, you respect your sister, you respect women. And if she wants to challenge, well, women aren't aliens. Feminism is usually talented apart
November 22, 2025 at 11:34 PM
I think of myself as a "militant feminist" and I hope I always live up to that.

Crime is down. Doesn't feel that way in my own Ypsi. I still carry a butterfly knife. Most people at night are just pleading for money, and yo, I get that. I've been homeless, so either I do or I don't give. Rare I have cash on me. I just feel sorry for them. I hate the state of things.

Captain obvious reference forecoming. But even that is fundamentally wrong. The North Koreans use "democratic" in their name and they are also correct at least in theory. As are many Dem Soc being wrong in their use of it.

CNN "Experts" could try harder finding actual experts.

I would like to get my own art tattooed on me someday. This one would be an easy contender, I'm just not sure how the borders would work out. I drew this in a long stay in a psych ward.
