Design awards usually go to what’s new. But here’s the paradox: The only way to tell if a design is really good is if it stands the test of time.
So getting picked after 15 years is good news for good design. For ideas that hold up. For products built to last.

Meta’s signature social network approach is to shove viral trash down your feed whether you like it or not. A triumph of bad taste and exploitation of the worst instincts over aspirations.

iA Writer 7 dims the text you paste from AI tools. As you edit ChatGPT’s input and make it your own, iA Writer keeps track of what is yours and what isn’t.

Since the introduction of ChatGPT, adding “AI” to everything has become the dominant trend in IT. We considered AI for iA Writer. But obviously, we had to make sure not to destroy everything we had built over the last 15 years. We did not want our app to become an AI feature.

No feature
After a year of observation, experimentation, and testing, we may have found a careful response to the challenges we face with AI.
