The greyhound racing industry here is unregulated, unaccountable and on the run because they know the public are onto them.

Where are the official stats for dogs killed and injured on the tracks in Northern Ireland? Why are the Alliance Party providing them cover?
Cllr Anthony Flynn called for a full ban on greyhound racing at Belfast City Council. But Alliance watered it down - replacing a ban with “regulation” of an unregulated, cruel industry. The Greens stand for animal welfare, not compromise. #BanGreyhoundRacing

I've been speaking to the media today about the tragic story of Rosie the sighthound, who had to be put to sleep last year after suffering from an anxiety-induced stroke caused by fireworks. It's long past time the regulations around fireworks were looked at again.
Belfast councillor Anthony Flynn has now called for an urgent review of the Fireworks Law after the incident

Greyhound racing in Northern Ireland is a welfare crisis hiding in plain sight. No regulation. No oversight. No justice for the dogs harmed or discarded.

I’ve submitted a motion to Belfast City Council to ban greyhound racing.

Why are the DUP and the TUV so obsessed with other people's genitals?

It's weird, it's creepy and it needs to be called out.

The real reasons the DUP are spending so much time talking about useless culture wars is because they are 1. Terrified of the TUV and 2. Totally and utterly incompetent in government.

The problem isn't pronouns, it's poverty, pollution, and power.

Good to see the UK government finally make the decision to recognise the state of Palestine 🇵🇸

However, it's frankly the bare minimum at a time when the UK still arms the genocidal Israeli government. There should be nothing short of a full arms embargo! #FreePalestine

Hearing local political reps spout their own ideas of the motive behind Charlie Kirks murder is galling and comes across so disingenuous, especially when no one has been caught or charged.

Political violence in all its forms is terrifying, and I fear where the US is heading.

🌍 Great news for our communities in Ormiston, Balmoral, and Collin!

At committee tonight, we agreed that by March 2026, 23k more households will have access to glass recycling in phase two of Belfast City Council's glass recycling expansion.

Any questions, let me know 👇

Violent mobs of racist scumbags attacking folks in the street in East Belfast and causing mayhem for weeks, and our 5 MLAs and local MP have gone missing. Where's the political leadership?!

How long before someone is very seriously injured or killed by these thugs?

Exciting to visit the Strand Cinema today and see progress on its redevelopment 👏

Halfway there after major works (incl. 10 months of asbestos removal). Funded by:
💷 £4m Levelling Up
🏙 £1.8m Belfast City Council
🎟 £1m Lottery Heritage Fund

A huge win for East Belfast! 🎥

SDLP & Alliance cruising around Lough Neagh filming “concern” videos… the same parties that pushed the Going for Growth disaster that destroyed it. Nothing says irony like arsonists turning up to watch the fire they lit.

NI’s self-proclaimed Christian politicians are tripping over themselves to block medical care for a few injured Gaza children, citing “protecting our own.”

The same healthcare system they’ve gutted for decades.

The hypocrisy of these jokers is staggering.

If it's not Drag Queens, then it's Trans people. If it's not Refugees, then it's someone else.

The DUP will jump on every single culture war going, just to distract from the fact their Ministers are presiding over record levels of child poverty and a housing crisis.

Where's the concern from these folks about violence against women & girls? Where's the outrage or the protests when a woman is murdered by her partner?

If only those expressing faux outrage actually got exercised about real issues, rather than drag queens reading story books 🙄

Yet another spineless, morally bankrupt statement from Starmer

The UK says it might recognise a Palestinian state, but only if Israel behaves? Pathetic

Recognition should’ve happened long ago. Anything short of an arms embargo & full recognition is a betrayal of basic humanity.

Very positive move from the UK government, the NI assembly passed a joint Green Party/SF motion way back in 2012 to support lowering the voting age for our own elections. It's well past time for this change

A very welcome gesture.

What happened to these kids is nothing short of disgraceful bigotry and sectarianism.

Any adult who would use a child playing sport as a political football needs to give their ignorant head a wobble.

My own experience with bonfires isn't a good one for personal reasons, but I can still recognise there is good work being done across many bonfire sites to ensure they are as safe and respectful as possible. That fact is often lost in the discourse. 1/9

Bonfires can bring communities together, but there’s nothing cultural about racism, sectarian threats, or putting people’s homes & health at risk. When bonfires are used to intimidate or target minorities, that isn’t tradition - it’s hate. Celebration is about respect, safety, & dignity for all.
