Re-stating the obvious for any one still in doubt.
All famines are man-made, all famines are political. Historians of empire and humanitarianism have known this forever. Gaza is not starving, Gaza is being starved, by Israel, and this starvation is enabled by our government and by every other government that does not step in to force food and aid.

Same. I had two small kids, teaching online was exhausting. I could only record lectures when they were in bed. Seminars with a bunch of letters on screen instead of actual people broke me. And the archives were shut and no international travel meant I couldn’t see my sick dad or do any research.
Nothing makes me angrier - and will make me block you faster - than reply guys gleeful about UKHE going bankrupt because we were all so “lazy” and delivered such a “shit” product to students during Covid.
I have never worked so hard in my life. I crucified myself, AND I was homeschooling on top 1/2

We KILLED ourselves delivering a quality online education to students for whom online was always going to be disappointing.
It was heartrending to see music students have to do their final recitals alone in their rooms on a mobile phone.
And my colleagues are only just recovering from the burnout.
