We @cascadiadaily.com are calling the Port of Bellingham commission race for newcomer Carly James. She'll be the second woman to sit on the commission during its century-plus of existence. Also, expanding the commission is going to happen too!
There's a lot that goes into a fish stick, from the hands, nets and pots that catch the halibut, salmon and crab. Not to mention the months spent away from family on seas that can turn friendly to dangerous within moments. Fisher poets spoke about their experiences last night.

This week was filled with animal stories. Started with a fried squirrel, ended with a pit bull mix that saved the life of an elderly gentleman. Roach, who's not your average Lassie, got extra steak for dinner.

This week was filled with animal stories. Started with a fried squirrel, ended with a pit bull mix that saved the life of an elderly gentleman. Roach, who's not your average Lassie, got extra steak for dinner.
A first for me: I was given the wrong information by an entity for a story about a power outage. We had a little fun with the official cause: "the squirrel, it found its way to the Great Oak Tree in the sky."
