Unfolding Theatre’s mission is to bring people together. We stand against hate. We are sad and troubled by far right protests planned in Newcastle this weekend. However, we are heartened by the actions of many people who work to build connections, understanding and support in the city.

I feel lucky to have seen Mother Courage in Horden last night. Amazing company from East Durham and South Africa. Cracking performances, script and singing. Local. International. And all the more special for being shared in a church hall in Horden. 👏 👏 👏

So proud of this lot. Young people from our 3 youth groups came together to perform ‘Serving Up’ to 300+ people at Newcastle’s conference about health inequality. Set in The Future - a restaurant run by children - they served up delicious bites, a few home truths and visions for a better future.
We were delighted to perform at Newcastle City Council's Marmot City Conference! Young people from our three programmes united to deliver Serving Up, inspired by Marcus Rashford’s food poverty campaign. They took centre stage, standing up for change. Huge well done to all - we are so proud of you!
