I live in New Zealand crafting stories in my spare time (what's that?). I'm new to this whole Bluesky thing, so go easy on me, I'm technically "old folk" status.

Enjoyed this story I just read today.
Author Rachael K. Jones is known for writing stories that are so knife-sharp that you cut yourself when you pick them up. Her story "Five Functions of Your Binosaur," from Issue 4, is a gentler story, though still bittersweet.
Five Functions of Your Bionosaur - Small Wonders
The bionosaur was a baby shower gift from your mom's favorite aunt. They were nervous about its size, the stainless steel maw, the retractable razorclaws inside its stubby little arms, but the aunt had insisted.

If you haven't checked it out already have a read of the "Hate Baby" by the very talented Jaime Gill. That ending line is a real kicker, but the story from start to finish is a great read.
"Fake it ‘til you make it, Tony says, though I’m not sure that works when the it is inside you."

Sharp as an incisor, a phenomenal #fiction #mustread from @jamiegill.bsky.social | www.doesithavepockets.com/fiction/jaim...
