Reading is food for your mind. Like food, different reading choices serve different purposes. Some books are read for pleasure; some to satisfy a need. Some are like junk food; great as long as that's not all you eat. Some help to counter an imbalance in knowledge or experience. Variety is the key.

Read in public. Read in private. Read e-books, genre books, comics, fanfiction. Read literature. Read nonfiction. Read books you’ve already read. Listen to audiobooks. Read what you want. There’s no such thing as “doing reading the wrong way.”

the booker prize judges make a lot of fuss about having to read 153 books. but assuming an average weight of 750g per book, that comes in at 115kg of literature - or just under the weight of a single adult male ostrich

Had a little neighbourly scare this morning as I’ve heard alarm going off for a long time at my 90 years old neighbour’s house. Turns out she went swimming (as every Friday morning) and forgot to turn off her alarm. Pffff

Meesterwerk. Niet voor de mensen met een zwakke maag, maar wat is dit goed geschreven. Alles klopt, geen woord te veel geschreven en die prachtige lange zinnen. Echt geweldig.
