I asked my COMM 101 students where they get their news. Most said social media; one said, "honestly, this class." We profs have such an obligation to gather the best info and succinctly and clearly convey it in only 150 minutes per week. A big responsibility I take seriously

I'm watching that documentary too and was similarly struck by how, under Mrs. Graham's leadership (not that she was perfect), the paper exposed Nixon's crimes. The public eventually came around. Makes the fact that the WaPo is currently being driven into the ground all the more bitterly ironic

Designing and preparing courses before the term begins is almost meditative for me. I gather recommendations and advice from experts; assemble lists of resources and ideas; insert those resources into a carefully designed calendar; a beautiful, effective course that meets my students' needs emerges.
