Some duets are outward looking- they are a presentation of the integrity and character of both artists... Other times the collaboration can feel more opaque- are the artists sharing a true representation of themselves and does that even matter?

My heart is full.. It meant so much to see you all on Saturday, to feel your energy again, and to create this moment together that felt so powerful. It will live on in the ether of our memory. I will remember this show forever

The construction of a show is quite an undertaking. A set list is a curation, it’s a delicate construction. I want it to feel like chapters with distinct moods.. some disrupt, some hypnotise..

I’m so proud of the video for I See A Darkness, which is directed by Alexander Brown. It shows the intimacy of friendship during a night out, as a moment between the two friends is remembered over and over.

I’ve always dreamed of singing I See A Darkness. It’s so rare for a song to capture the beautiful romance of platonic friendship and chosen family so perfectly.

I first fell in love with Perfume Genius when I heard 'Queen' for the first time. I was in my room, completely transported by his singular angelic voice. The song came to an end and I picked up my guitar and wrote 'Don't Beat the Girl out of my Boy. There are few artists who touch me so profoundly.

To create music with another person is to say “I love you” and not know if your collaborator will say it back. It takes bravery and compassion. That is the art of the duet. Read the latest post on my Substack

It was a really emotional experience to attend the premier of Broken English, the new film celebrating the life and art of Marianne Faithful. I was so moved to see her again, even if it was only on screen.

The songs in this playlist are all of the guitar moments that have shaped my playing and my philosophical approach to music. I want to talk about every one of them but I fear the text will be too long! Read more on my Substack...

Static music seems to upend my sense of perspective. It feels like a middle finger to the rigidity of the universe. When I listen, I feel like I’m escaping. This music gets me closer to a feeling of belonging to something bigger. [Read more on my Substack]

In my experience, the guitar isn’t a weapon; it doesn’t exude strength and power. Rather, it represents decay and dramatic rupture—it’s a scream, a theatre stage where I can act out all of my basest impulses, free from any self-consciousness...
