We choose Co-Ops because they are controlled democratically and because they reinvest in local communities. In traditional corporations, workers serve the interests of capital. In a worker co-op, funds serve the interests of the workers.

What is a Co-Op? ★ A co-operative organization is owned by its members, who share similar economic, cultural and/or social needs. Businesses with co-operative models are owned and democratically controlled by their owners, who are often workers.

Our co-op began in 2023 when @iatsecanada.bsky.social & @cag938.bsky.social wished to help #animation workers learn about unionizing. Our founding members @internetkarla.bsky.social, Chayadol Lomtong, & Dennis Levesque took on the job and crafted the short "An Animation Union at Your Studio." 1/2

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers' members aren’t just fighting for a contract, they’re defending a public postal system that connects people, drives local economies, & supports equity across Canada.

Canada’s unions stand in full solidarity. They deserve a fair deal.
