My thoughts might change on a rewatch, but with the 1 watch of shiboyugi ep 1 I'm pretty sure that Beniya has the butch instinct to protect a girl who's in clear distress. I then wonder if part of her gravitating to Momono rather than Aoi was bc of Momono's body, consciously or not

The cliche ppl abt analysis making fiction less fun is a lie, analyzing is SO much fun if your analysis isn't some bs abt deciding what stories are morally good or bad. It's actually a problem how much fun it is bc I feel like I haven't actually watched a show unless I watched each episode 3 times

Just funny to me how many fandom "feminists" will bemoan a lack of stories about female characters that don't center around men, but when presented with a surplus of exactly those stories will find any excuse not to try them. Male characters can be any bs but girls gotta be 10/10 every time

No way momono and beniya didn't walk out of that death game and straight to a love hotel. They seemed to get a major case of suspension bridge effect & it's def gonna interact very strangely with the trauma lol

Ngl it annoys tf out of me how any time a cast is all female everyone's asking "why are they all girls?" but when a cast is all male nobody cares. Even more annoying is how ppl always write it off as just the author's fetish w/ no story relevance as if that's the only reason not to write men

Shiboyugi is kinda terrifying, goddamn. I've had a fascination with structures not built for survival and it captured the fear that comes with those very well

One thing that always drives me nuts is when a girl is wearing a bra or a cleavage-y costume that is a little small for her boobs. The way it squishes when seen from certain angles is just so peak, and it can easily be snuck into an otherwise pg design. Anyway pic unrelated

In the episode, Sakiko says their relationship is nobody's business but their own. Sakiko as a whole is a character who's never let us in on her inner thoughts--she instead shows us with her actions. While we don't know what exactly she was thinking, we don't need to. Her actions say it all :)

While I do still think the episode (and 13) is a touch abstract, I see it as the whole point. It's like the episode exists to show us Hatsune and Sakiko *did* work things out, but what's happening between them *mentally* is so intimate that we'd be trespassing to know more.
