Throughout my work I always do my best to express what Hellenism means - it embodies the entire Greek culture… However it did not dawn one me to actually reference a Greek dictionary, why it didn’t, I don’t know. Sometimes the obvious thing to do escapes us.

I have found out that JK Rowling is "inspired" by Athena in her anti-trans agenda.

I do not support this appropriation of Athena. Leave the Gods out of your BS.

Rowling should beware, for Athena brings "madness to the wicked"

“In Julian’s context, Ἑλληνισμός does not refer to religion in the modern sense, but rather to the entirety of the Hellenic cultural, philosophical, and civic tradition, rooted in ancestral custom, paideia, theurgy, and divine imitation, but this complexity is completely lost in translation.”

Dr. Sasha Chaitow lays everything out very well on the topic of “continuity” - give it a read.

Even if tongue-in-cheek, the colonial undertone needs unpacking here. Such humor does participate in a longer tradition of Western possessiveness over Greek antiquity and the implicit separation between Ancient Greek = universal, serious vs. Modern Greek = local, folkloric, funny.

In his farewell address to the nation on January 15th 2025, President Biden warned that oligarchy threatens the United States' democracy. In his address, he echos many of the concerns of Socrates in Plato’s Republic.

After successfully building my Hearth of Hellenism substack, I decided to create The Adyton.

The Adyton, as I see it in my mind, will be a space for me to explore other topics that interest me and do not fit into the theme and purpose of Hearth of Hellenism.
