Story teller with children and young people of South Sudan. Communication Chief, UNICEF, South Sudan
This is shocking. In South Sudan more children are out of school than in school. Too many try to learn in collapsing classrooms or under trees. Investing in education is one of the most important lifelines for South Sudan’s children. #EducationCantWait
New analysis from UNICEF shows that international aid to education is projected to fall by $3.2 billion by 2026 — a 24% drop. In humanitarian contexts, the threats could be devastating.

Just over 100 days of listening & learning in South Sudan. Only admiration for the many people I’ve met …. living with many challenges yet finding time to explain & tell their stories. We all pray for an end to rumbling violence across the country ….so the dreams of children here can be realised. 🕊️🇸🇸

No girl should ever live in fear.

From home to school, from the streets to the workplace, every space should be a safe space.

Safety is a right, not a privilege. Let’s make it a reality.

Female Genital Mutilation violates a girl’s rights to health and safety. Every girl deserves to grow up free from harm.

🔊 Raise awareness. Speak out. Demand action to protect girls.

Well done to the #UNICEF young reporters using their voices to encourage all children back to school - it’s critical in #SouthSudan, where almost 3 million children are not in school.

To safeguard their future, children and young people must have access to #QualityEducation.
