Real Talk about getting laid off from a super famous company: I’ve been cycling in a loop between the same library of emotions. Anger, sadness, relief, optimism, calm, anxiety. Meanwhile everything you read about it is true. Lotta high performers were laidoff to meet quota.

Yesterday I learned that almost everyone I knew who got laid off at #meta were high performers and completely blindsided by the sudden low rating and dismissal (including me). Many have reached out to me in support and empathy which I truly appreciate! #metaLayoffs (part 1)

🫡 my time at #Meta has come to an end, today I learned I am part of this most recent layoff cycle. Even though they claim it’s performance based, I had absolutely no notion of performance problems at all leading up to this point. I actually have been getting really great ratings so far. (Part 1)

Sunday I have the Austin Half Marathon (formerly known as the 3M) amidst all the chaos going on in my life and I’ll probably rage-run that. I doubt i’ll hit my PR because I’m also sick AF but who knows. Wish me luck. PS I dropped more weight and am now in the 150’s which is about 25-30lbs lost.

Something interesting I have experienced in wrapping up a relatives’ estate after her passing, is that there’s a wide range of hold music out there and some of it is pretty jammin.
