A fantastic morning at Tice's meadow this morning. 38 species of birds. Absolute stand out was my first ever Water Rail. After 35 years of birdwatching. Made up.

Took the boys out for the #NewYearPlantHunt... it involved a stop at the park. 25 species recorded. Some interesting ones to note. Smooth Tare, Ervum tetraspermum. Common Ramping-fumitory, Fumaria muralis and Round-leaved Crane's-bill, Geranium rotundifolium @bsbibotany.bsky.social

A fantastic 2025. The family got into moths. New to me species of plants found. Experiences, such as seeing hundreds of Hirundines, set off on their migrations for the winter above Gilbert White's House. Lots of plans for next year.... including a clearwing quest. @bsbibotany.bsky.social #teammoth

A nice walk with family at Thursley NNR. Not many birds around. But did spot some some Ivy Broomrape, Orobanche hederae in Elstead on the way home, as we stopped for cake. @bsbibotany.bsky.social
