I think there is a failing in Accounting theory and also Corporate theory.
In short, there is no measurement of so called 'intangibles' such as customer loyalty or staff institutional knowledge.
Those two line items are not on any company balance sheet - so no value is applied.

It would be good if hosting companies added a small amount on to the cost of hosting.
