Worrying reports of bird flu (avian influenza) are coming in, including an outbreak in Whooper Swans in the Fens. Other waterbirds are also being affected, and cases are rising.

@laziobirder.bsky.social hi Brendon, I've been to Ouse Washes today & it's a bit grim in front of the hides from Stockdale. 11 Whooper, 1 each of Canada & Greylag all dead. The worrying part is the amount of Marsh Harriers feeding on the carcasses.
