discovered that pendulum also has metrognome in this format
thankfully it's a really garbage scale, but also it self-synergizes with itself if you have multiple and might be a decent aggro payoff without getting the ability to make a tempo breaking combo deck with perfect recovery

essentially the main weakness of the card is it bricks you in the early game, but otherwise it's essentially literally just pot of avarice, and in this format that's kinda crazy
it's genuinely impressive how much a simple +1 in card advantage matters in this format

speaking of pot of dichotomy, that card is so powerful honestly
especially with steelcage being everywhere, the tempo loss basically doesn't matter, and since most decks are on dragon tuners and sazanks at minimum, and can synchro summon, the 3 different types in gy isn't that hard a requirement

aaand, because it's a beast, it's also a type not shared with the other monsters in the deck, which sometimes helps with dichotomy

it works great because it's essentially a removal spell that then goes and sits in the S/T and lets you materialize anytime even if you don't get to your lab wall shadow

S1 capsule is playground constructed and honestly it's a lot of fun
regarding the recent addition of fabled as a TTTD incentive also, im so happy we managed to focus this core around some of the weakest and most unassuming fabled monsters, it's great!

on the complete other hand of self discard, this is urustos beat, a low to the ground control deck that just plays the bigger monsters and denies interaction and slowly generates advantage (yes that means it's fabled control, yes it works, yes it's good)

this looks like the stupidest shit, here's coffin dance, a prototypal deck for S1 with the goal of going for combo plays as soon and as often as possible and outpace the opponent, maximizing the amount of special summon a turn we can do

the X-Saber package in warrior decks is even more potent than we've seen in testing because as it turns out, all these times i've been bricking on saber slash with no monster, i could have used puppet pawn's GY effect to find an anu piranha and unbrick my game

ruru found some really good ideas to make laughing coffin (and tribute to the doom) playable in S1 im so proud of her
i think urustos control and the dark world removal package might be integrated into base S1 under tribute to the doomed and coffin

that is to say, we'll be focusing on tempo to gather the wedju temple and then start rolling out 2100+ dwellers one after the other, and followup that pressure with more pressure by materializing sengenjin and then having the soul res to revive it

materialized millennium is rough because it's so demanding in S/T zone management, it can have really strong mid to late games but the early tends to be a slog
i'm removing as much gimicky garbage from the build as possible and recentering it on "i get to make huge guys often" type of gameplan

cleaned up some garbonzo from S1 cardpool and also removed some stuff that we missed and would probably be too strong or redundant (silent wobby sounds very broken in lifegain, hydrotortoise power creeps trap master)
we're at 566 cards in that capsule

i know this is in no way going to sound hinged, but we've limited each piece of the gate guardian
in the labyrinth deck, if sanga is at 3, you just play 3 sanga, there's no reason to play suijin or kazejin if we don't limit them
in addition, it also means that the deck now only needs to have its
