It’s been a while, BlueSky!

Recently finished up with Newstalk and Bauer Media Audio Ireland after almost 9 years with the group.

I’ve learned so much from some of the best in the business and I will really miss the place.

Currently taking a short break before a new challenge next week!

Very important discussion on the plight of children with disabilities on @tonightvmtv.bsky.social, especially around a lack of special education classes and assessments of need waiting lists.

Been doing a lot of work on this in recent months, genuinely baffled how it isn't a bigger scandal.

Suggestions that Catherine Ardagh (FF) and John Cummins (FG) will be the first-time TD's who will be appointed junior ministers when Cabinet meets this afternoon.

Promotions in store for Niamh Smyth and Michael Moynihan (both FF), while Emer Higgins and Neale Richmond (both FG) look to hold.

The usual bad-faith actors, who consistently downplay weather events and gaslight everyone into thinking the same, are suspiciously very quiet this morning.

Don't know if many of them are on BSky but still #StormÉowyn

The Dail has sat for a total of 30 minutes since it reconvened at around 11:05am.
January 22, 2025 at 1:26 PM
Dail suspended for a further 45 minutes to allow government and opposition parties to meet in an effort to resolve the row over the technical groups.
January 22, 2025 at 1:15 PM
Incredible scenes. The Dail has been suspended AGAIN after the opposition called for Ceann Comhairle Verona Murphy to publish legal advice she received in relation to the RIG members getting speaking rights from the opposition benches.

The Dáil is back, and there's more shouting.
January 22, 2025 at 11:58 AM
Ceann Comhairle Verona Murphy forced to suspend Dail proceedings after an almighty row with the opposition.

27 minutes is all it took.

We are so back!

Also, the IRFU needs to consider a second AIL division in the women’s game.

Only having one division means players will be poached from clubs who are trying to improve their status to the likes of the bigger women’s clubs.

Let the game develop properly!
January 4, 2025 at 6:04 PM
Open to correction, but by my read of things 31 out of the 50 AIL clubs have women’s teams.

Some of the remaining 19 have functioning underage girls teams which could develop to women’s sides down the line, but it’s not good enough in 2025 that it hasn’t happened already.

Labour has officially withdrawn from talks about potentially forming a government.

Leader Ivana Bacik says the 'policy gap' between Labour and FF and FG would mean it's 'not possible to implement policy priorities' in their manifesto.

Labour leader Ivana Bacik admits the party is 'unlikely' to go into government with Fianna Fail and Fine Gael.

She wants to meet with both Micheal Martin and Simon Harris seek a 'substantive response' to the party's policy priorities before making a final decision.

A reminder that the new Dáil hasn't even sat yet
December 10, 2024 at 4:28 PM
Labour leader Ivana Bacik will meet with Fianna Fail leader Micheal Martin tomorrow, and Fine Gael leader Simon Harris later this week.

Hard to see how you convince Labour to come on board to a government platform that your teams are negotiating without Labour in the room.
December 9, 2024 at 3:43 PM
Fianna Fail and Fine Gael's negotiating teams are to meet tomorrow to start government formation talks.

It follows a meeting of Micheal Martin and Simon Harris today.
