Magic story is important! The weariness for the “hat sets” demonstrates that you can’t just slap any old reference on a magic card and have people like it. People like well-built worlds and intentional storytelling. That’s part of the secret sauce that makes magic special!

I have gotten death threats because someone else banned a card in a format i don't even play. I have gotten death threats for writing articles about video game box art. I didn't cave, and that was for goofy shit, not governance.
