The patterning on the #EasternSpotBilledDuck reminded me a lot of both the American Black Duck in my region and the Pacific Black Duck I saw in Australia. Sure enough, Birds of the World highlighted that all three are quite similar!

My friendly neighborhood #GreatHornedOwl (with minor stabilization edits because shooting a video on 200-800 lens handheld turned out to be hard in the cold). I have had them land in my yard at night, hoot on my roof at 4am, and otherwise be surprisingly good company!

My friendly neighborhood #GreatHornedOwl (with minor stabilization edits because shooting a video on 200-800 lens handheld turned out to be hard in the cold). I have had them land in my yard at night, hoot on my roof at 4am, and otherwise be surprisingly good company!
