Some of my highlights while traveling in China were: the experience of the wet bathroom in Guilin, my personal proof that it is possible to eat vegetarian in China (although vegan is hard), re-visiting the dormitory at SJTU, and the amazing high-speed train infrastructure in China.

I'm happy that next to some sight seeing and meeting an old friend, I was able to talk about some of my PhD research at Hunan University, ShanghaiTech, and Shanghai JiaoTong University (SJTU).

My talk at SJTU was special for me since I did there my exchange year back in 2011/2012.

I'm super happy that our #NeuRobots workshop at #IROS2025 turned out to be a great community gathering for researchers working on or interested in neuromorohic perception and processing.

The workshop started with Mina A Khoei from SynSense sharing the industry perspective.

I'm on my way to #IROS in Hangzhou. While I love to meet colleagues from all over the world, appreciate being exposed to robotics research for a whole week, I'm also aware of the environmental impact of my academic "lifestyle".

What a time. On Saturday last week, a group of (young) Friends met in Catania to get more insights about the Mediterranean sea rescue and the current (political) situation.

Are you interested in event cameras, event-based computer vision, and other forms of neuromorphic perception for robotics?
At our #IROS 2025 workshop on Neuromorphic Perception for Real-World Robotics (NeuRobots), we are fortunate to have speakers with a variety of backgrounds.

I just came across this post, presenting an NVC perspective on the Iran–Israel war, which I find touching and inspiring.

I'm on the way to Patras (via Milano and Bari) on my mission of life-long-learning (www.tcoptrob.org/summer-schoo...). I'm looking forward to learning more about some topics in robotics I'm not yet familiar with (there are so many).

After a day of reading (papers) and a jogging round cooling down in the lake. I'm still a Zürisee-Buäb and enjoying the atmosphere.

Does your work on event-based computer vision not beat the latest benchmark in terms of accuracy, but it runs on a real robot and/or in real-time? If so, our workshop, NeuRobots at IROS 2025 in Hangzhou, is the right place to present your work.

I appreciate the carefully chosen words of @quaker.org.uk in their important statement. As we say in Quaker terminology, these Friends speak my mind.
We need to heed the promptings of love and truth in our hearts and speak up now. We believe that genocide is underway in Gaza.

We use this word with the aim of opening eyes, minds and hearts. We use it in the deep hope that the actions it describes will stop.

After a week with a lot of inputs, presentations, poster sessions, a doctoral consortium, workshops, conversations, meeting familiar and new faces and a couple of IPAs, #ICRA2025 is over.

I always feel (a bit) like a hypocrite when I travel by plane. I hope my plans are worth it.
On the menu are: 2x conferences, 3x papers to present, 4x posters to present, 2x countries to visit, several cities, a couple of research labs, some Quaker meetings and meeting familiar and new faces.

#ICRA 2025 is coming closer!

I’ll be presenting our work, “Detection of Fast-Moving Objects with Neuromorphic Hardware” — more details here: cogsys-tuebingen.github.io/snn-edge-ben...

I was also accepted into the Doctoral Consortium (DC), where I will present my work and discuss further research.
