Starting from tonight the weather will bring lots of snow and temperatures down to -15°C here in Stockholm. The next days will be perfect to go for walks in the woods or just stay in reading.

So far he doesn't seem too bothered by the bloody fireworks, but the noise will be far worse tomorrow night and unfortunately I won't be at home with him until after midnight in case he should get scared.
He's never reacted to fireworks before, but with age he's becoming more sensitive to sounds.

Vad är det för jävla idioter som redan börjat med fyrverkerierna? Jag har aldrig förstått vare sig tjusningen eller nyttan med fyrverkerier. Det jag däremot förstår är skadorna de åsamkar varje år. Förbjud skiten en gång för alla, herregud.

For dinner tonight I made a beef spezzatino (a sort of Italian stew). I let it cook on a low heat for seven hours today. To go with it, I made some creamy polenta.
It was delicious and I feel like a nonno from the Alps now.

I Stockholm märker vi inte av stormen ännu så länge, men enligt prognosen kommer vindstyrkan att öka under eftermiddagen och kvällen.

My old English teacher in Italy has a band with his brother that performs songs in the local dialect. A friend just sent me a video from the band of a Christmas song called "Nadal cum la fümana" (in standard Italian "Natale con la nebbia", in English "Christmas with Fog"). It warmed my heart. ❤️

Idag är det Boxing Day, som det heter på engelska, och då får man lov att ge sig in i slagsmål med främlingar man möter på gatan. Ha så kul! 😊

A far more laid-back evening tonight than yesterday, but still cosy and festive. And for once I'm having white (it's a delicious Riesling that goes wonderfully well with all the tastes of Swedish Christmas food).
