I was trying to find some appropriate art to help illustrate an article in another magazine. Doing so, I realized we've not served the Archaic Greek period very extensively. If we published another theme on that era, what topics would you suggest?

Years ago, in a previous edition of our site, you might've run into a photo of sad looking labrador, Jack. He passed away in 2023 😢. This is now my morning ritual when we get to the office...

Preparing a visual brief for a cartographer (who will be making a map for my article in @ancientwarfare.bsky.social on 'vexillations' in the Roman Army in the C2nd AD) is an interesting challenge, meaning reconciling written accounts with archaeological finds. (📷 is my own).

We advertise the Online archive (chk.me/208Vxv9) as a really neat way to read AW and access back issues, but it's particularly convenient for us too when planning themes as I don't instantly remember everything we've published. And yet, looking back, I can still see so many options! Ideas welcome!
