Day 8 and 9: The Filipino delegation arrived at One Tree Island! In these first couple of days we introduced our activities, did a few beautiful snorkels and deployed oceanographic instruments. Plenty of scientific and fun activities to do around #OTI!

Day 6 & 7: As the Vietnamese delegation departed, activities continued at #OneTreeIsland with the University of Sydney science team. Over 100 news points recorded with the underwater camera, a whole island drone survey and much more!

Day 5 at One Tree Island: Despite bad weather, we had a blast! Couple snorkels and a delicious farewell dinner to celebrate a successful week with the Vietnamese group!

Day 4 at One Tree Island: We started the day with a beautiful snorkel in the reef gutter, followed by our final workshop on benthic community data and topography analysis. We also had some presentations by PhDs candidates Katie and Phuong.

Day 3: We started the day with a great seminar by @profanavc.bsky.social followed by a workshop in #RBR pressure transducers, #nortek current profilers and much more by PhD candidates Ratneel and Lachlan.
In the afternoon, we deployed more instruments and used #RTKs to survey the rubble flat.

Day 2: Instrument deployments!
In the morning, delegates acquired underwater video recording for benthic community analysis. In the afternoon, instruments such as pressure transducers, current profilers and CTD were programmed and deployed around the lagoon and reef flat.

Day 1: Vietnamese delegation arrival at One Tree Island Research Station.
Multiple helicopter flights brought a group of 16 visitors to #OTI today. On the island, testing of instruments continued in a beautiful sunny day!

And tomorrow ...deployments of oceanographic instruments! 🥳

Day 0: Arrival One Tree Island and preparation of instruments. Over next weeks, #USYD, Geoscience Australia and DFAT will provide a training exercise for delegates from Vietnam and Philippines in the #GBR!
