For the collaborators
And traitors.
Those who shook hands
With the devil,
In exchange for comfort
During war,
Slept in shallow graves,
When evil
No longer
Gave them power -
The oppressed
Have long memories
Of their oppressors.

To be broken later,
And a gilded ballroom
For the feckless fascist
And his cohort
Of succubi and sycophants.

In a plot twist
Neither Camus
Nor Kafka
Could have penned.
The smoldering ruins
Of Democracy
Will be defended
By sloppy IEDs
Made of mustard and onions.
The glitchiest AI
Could never output
Such madness
And meme-worthiness,
Proving the perfection
In the flaws
Of human creativity
And rage -
Which dictators and despots
Do not possess.
The resistance
May not be televised,

Of stage-diving bodies,
Flailing limbs
With heavy boots
And studded jackets.
The band fired sound
Through the heaving sea,
Surging to the stage
In fanatical waves,
Screaming the lyrics
Back
Into the faces
Of the band -
The mutual experience
Of performance
And release,
The catharsis of rage,
Through sweat and song.

By the way, @bsky.app @support.bsky.team … the alt text editor is glitchy as f*ck lately. Permanently unable to exit keyboard to hit “save,” when text runs longer in editor - this is especially true when pasting large chunks of text.

I have never understood how people in genuinely cold climates deal with real winters. I grew up in the deep south, and then moved to the deep south of SoCal. I think snow is beautiful, love to “visit” winter, but I think living in it would kill me.
