They say that i'm an inefficient white elephant and that my days are numbered.

At least the passengers and crew love me. I'm still the most comfortable airliner with the quietest cabin after all :)

My delivery was delayed for 2 years and the media assumed it was because i was fat. Unbelievable.

Wiring problems caused by the design software used by French and German sides of Airbus being incompatible caused the delays.

And i am most definitely not fat, just large. Yes, there's a difference.
A news article subheading with the quote "Airbus new megaplane has a weight problem" referring to the speculated reasons for the delays in the delivery of the Airbus A380, the world's largest passenger plane. This speculation was proven false as the delays were actually caused by incompatibilities between the different design software French and German sides of Airbus, which caused wiring problems that ended up delaying the programme by 2 years and cost Airbus 4.8 Billion Euros.

It's raining outside of my hangar right now and i'm remembering the time they flooded the runway to test how well i could handle water.

This is the livery style that my older sisters officially debuted with.

It looks nice on me but if i still prefer the one i officially debuted with.

I'd like to thank my sister, A340-300, for carrying and testing my engines before i was built 🤗.
An Airbus A340-300, a quad engine airliner, taking off. The inside engine on the left wing is much larger then the rest because it's a different engine for the intended for the Airbus A380, the world's largest passenger plane, because this A340-300 was being used as a test mule for the A380's engines.

I'm starting to feel old, it's been more then 20 years since i first flew and i'm finally getting those dreaded "wing-box pains" and "wing-spar pains" that 747 has always groaned about.
The Airbus A380, the world's largest airliner about to take off from Toulouse–Blagnac Airport on it's maiden flight on April 27th 2005, a large crowd is gathered in a nearby field to watch it take off.
