I've been slogging through this edit. I've added tons of complexity to the worldbuilding and have set up future conflict. I was feeling proud of myself until I realized the wrong person is delivering this information. I have to make up a new character and redo it AGAIN. Fuck me 😂 #writingcommunity

Saw Dune part 2 and I’m still trying to process it. The film was breathtaking. There were some changes to characters and plot I did not like. I hope the movie does really well. I want Messiah

I ordered a sealed version of Jonghyun’s Poet|Artist on eBay for 28USD. The album shipped from Kyoto Japan and arrived less than 48 hours after I bought it. Included with the album was a kind note and a package of tea. I can’t believe how quickly it arrived

As I continue improving my writing skills new stuff is unearthed in this novel I'm editing. Previously unseen tension between characters and more complicated plot threads. Most days I worry about my ability to make it come together. I stumble forward anyway #amwriting #writingcommunity #authors

Today in ADHD: tried a new recipe and put it in the oven. Started cleaning. Got hyperfocused on cleaning. Smelled the new recipe getting toasty. Kept cleaning. Then it was burning. I KNEW. But I couldn’t stop cleaning because *just one more thing*. Food was burned. Cue meltdown

The fact Onew got best Kpop album of the Year (according to Billboard) brought tears to my eyes because Circle is insanely good. It’s so comforting. A no skip album that I continually listen to on repeat. I’m so proud of him and I hope he feels well enough to come back in 2024

In a documentary Miyazaki was asked why Jiji doesn’t talk at the end of Kiki’s. He says, “Sometimes there’s nothing to say. Her magic deepened. What could he possibly say? Would you prefer if Jiji said something like, ‘see what happens without me?’ That’s annoying. You’d tell him to shut up.” 🤣🤣🤣

Every writer should study Miyazaki’s films. Sometimes Miyazaki depicts horrid violence (Mononoke, Howl’s, Nausicaa) sometimes the violence is in the background (The Wind Rises) and sometimes there is none. Conflict is situational (Totoro, Kiki’s). All the films are poignant. #writingcommunity
First Question: What is your stance on the role of violence in media? Do you think violence is a necessary element of conflict or do you use alternative drivers of conflict? If so, how?

Yes!! RTD called Ncuti the New New Doctor in an interview way back. This is what he meant. I’m ecstatic. Over the moon.
The Giggle was wonderful. It felt like it ended an era of Doctor Who, the one that started in 2005, and began another. (It still feels like it's the story that began in 1963.)
