Introducing the Neurolipid Atlas: a new resource for brain lipid research and neurodegenerative diseases | Amsterdam UMC
Altered lipid metabolism in the brain is a key feature of many neurodegenerative diseases, yet comparing lipid data across studies has remained a challenge. To address this, Femke Feringa, Sascha Koppes-den Hertog, and Rik van der Kant, together with team of Martin Giera at LUmc, have developed the Neurolipid Atlas.

First consultation hours for patients with smoldering Multiple Sclerosis | Amsterdam UMC
Amsterdam UMC is launching unique consultation hours for patients with ‘smoldering MS’. This form of Multiple Sclerosis involves gradual disease progression even without active inflammation in the brain. During the special consultation hour, these patients will receive tailored treatment advice. The initiative is partly based on research into age and MS by neurologist Eva Strijbis and radiologist Frederik Barkhof of Amsterdam UMC, recently published in Nature Reviews Neurology.
