If women submitting to men was a natural way of being, they would not have needed laws, religion & violence to get them to do it.

Have started listening to traditional radio again to avoid the stress and anxiety that comes with social media news.
15 min of morning, afternoon and evening news on national radio (Aakashvaani) keeps me updated and stress-free.

Gen AI has made me dumber and lazier. I can’t live with myself this way. Cancelling my subscriptions and going back to the old ways of learning.

I need to go back to learning programming languages by reading books and then coding.
I learnt Java that way in 2014, and everything is still imprinted in my brain.
Going to do that for C++. Need to master that before September 2025.

Wrote about how everyone knows all the apps you have on your phone, especially all the Indian companies:

Everyone knows what apps you use
Until a few years ago, any app you installed on an Android device could see all other apps on your phone without your permission.

The future is more stuff.

Slightly better stuff.

More marketing to convince us we need the slightly better stuff.

More debt to buy it.

More work to pay off the debt.

More environmental damage to produce it.

And more waste when we discard it for the next slightly better iteration.
The Future is More Stuff
Let me tell you about my smartphone. Not the one I have now - the one I had in 2015. It took decent photos, browsed the web reasonably well, and let me text my friends. When it eventually died, I replaced it with a newer model that... took slightly better

'sold as slave labor to El Salvador' is I honestly think a fair way of describing it
Totally agree with this. Flying a person to a third country that they may never have been to, directly into a prison where they are going to be forced to do hard labor, is not a deportation; it's something else entirely.
@washingtonpost.com They were not DEPORTED. Deported means sending them back to their country of origin. These people were sent to a maximum security prison in El Salvador, without any due process or any analysis as to whether they feared harm in El Salvador!

This is absurdly great, but I haven't read a single news article about it. A fully open source, offline-first alternative to Notion that's a collab between the French and German governments because they want to host docs securely and on their own terms. THIS is what Europe should be doing.

Sharing my most recent climb up to Ben Nevis. Quite enjoyable. Much easier than my treks in the Himalayas. I’ll probably try the Alps now. 🏔️💯

So hard to juggle between doing my courseworks, revising my lessons, extra studying for the stuff that I find interesting (and want to gain more knowledge in), applying for jobs for after my MSc and looking for phd opportunities (if I find something interesting).
