B. "Who has an expensive problem that this could solve who might be willing to toss money at it?"

Her solutions:

Turns out what she really needs is to hermetically seal her sensor so that it can work outside.

"Is there anything off the shelf that could do it?"

She paused, "No."

So the next questions were:
