Halloween can sometimes bring added challenges for people living with dementia and their carers.

For family members and caregivers, creating a calm and consistent environment can help lessen the impact #Halloween may have on those with #dementia.

We’re saddened to hear that Fawlty Towers star, Prunella Scales, has passed away aged 93.

Best known for her iconic role as Sybil, Prunella also spoke openly about living with vascular dementia, helping to raise awareness and understanding of the condition.

Our thoughts are with her loved ones.

Tonight, the clocks go back one hour. For people living with #dementia, the end of daylight savings can be particularly challenging 🕰️

The shorter days and longer evenings may increase symptoms of #sundowning, such as confusion and restlessness.

Each year, we come together at the BRACE Carol Service to remember loved ones lost to #dementia 🕊️

New entries to the BRACE Book of Remembrance are read aloud, and the book displayed. This is a free way to honour your loved one's memory and keep them alive.

Worried about dementia running in the family? For most people, #dementia isn’t inherited, but some types do have stronger genetic links.

Research is helping us understand how genes contribute to different dementias, and how we can reduce risk for future generations.

Recent research has shown younger generations, especially women, have a lower #dementia risk than their grandparents did at the same age.

Experts suggest that improved education, healthcare, and lifestyle changes could be driving this decline.

Symptoms of depression are common for people living with #dementia, and the emotional & physical demands of caring for a loved one can also lead to feelings of depression or anxiety.

Remember, looking after yourself is just as important as caring for others.

A simple urine test could help spot #dementia decades before symptoms appear, new research shows. The study found that protein in urine may act as an early warning sign.

At BRACE, we fund research into early diagnosis, because the sooner dementia is detected, the more chance there is to prevent it.

Blood tests could soon diagnose Alzheimer's disease. This could support the 1 in 3 people in England who are living with dementia without a diagnosis.

BRACE has been investing significant funding into earlier dementia diagnosis.

No one seeking a #dementia diagnosis should be without one.

Record levels of dementia patients are now receiving support from the NHS.

Support is expanding nationwide - but there is still so much to do.

At BRACE, we fund research into early #dementia diagnosis, helping people access support sooner and giving new treatments more time to make a difference.
