I didn’t think I would become this boring of an adult this quickly but I just said to myself, “Ooo I have extra time, I could deep clean the bathroom to surprise my wife before she gets home, that would be romantic.”

And I did. With sneaky little glee.

If you are looking for a quick and lighthearted read, may I suggest a #GreekMythology rom-com?

Medusa gets a second chance at love in the modern day in DEAR HADES.

This YA chat fiction novel is available where books are sold (and on Libby!).

Wheelchair jokes. I think I’m funny.

On a serious note, this administration is trying to rob disabled people of our ability to live fulfilling lives, in the name of billionaire greed and eugenics.

My wife, my chair, and I are going to keep showing up at the statehouse.

Being an author is a paradox. I write books because I have something to say, but industry etiquette dictates one should not say anything of substance outside of books or you might alienate readers.

Unfortunately for me, I care more about human rights than book sales, so I won’t shut up.

My doctor: I’ve never seen POTS this severe before

My meme-rotted brain’s immediate reaction: I have gotten an A+ in POTS, something that is both normal to want and possible to achieve

You know what popular #fantasy authors don’t do enough of anymore imo? Siege warfare. Everyone was writing sieges when I was a kid, now they’re always lining everyone up on battlefields or having magic girl 1-v-1 battles. I LOVE a good fortress siege, especially with SIEGE ENGINES.

My gay little cat is furious I shut him in the bedroom and didn’t let him bother the maintenance man.

His absolute favorite thing in the world is rubbing all over strange men.

Look at him pout.

I just want everyone to know that a friend posted this on Facebook and our white Christian mutuals IMMEDIATELY with their whole chest rushed to comment, “I absolutely oppose diversity, equity, and inclusion. All of the above.”
If you oppose DEI you should have to use the full phrase, “I oppose diversity, equity and inclusion.”

Bonus points if you add your points, “I oppose disabled veterans equal access to employment.” “I oppose mothers having jobs.”

Making it an acronym turns it into a thought-terminating cliche.

This weekend my grandfather passed away, there are mice in my ceiling, and my disability continues to disable me, but at least my TikTok video infodumping about Arthurian legend went lowkey viral so there’s that 😅

Everyone is doing the “I met my younger self for coffee” trend but my younger (very conservative) self would probably try to pray over me and exorcise my homosexual demons while crying because I write gay books now, so I doubt it would be a pleasant encounter for either of us 😂

Explaining to other white people today that “not understanding a word of” the performance by a man with 22 Grammys and a Pulitzer reflects more on them than on Kendrick Lamar.

Search engines are free, y’all. Research. The performance was brilliant.

Me: Ah! An open and obvious coup by an unelected billionaire! Surely we as Americans will be united on this one

My family members on Facebook: Not only do I support what is happening, but you are stupid for not supporting it

Me: Oh! Silly me, I had too much faith in humanity again
February 4, 2025 at 11:29 PM
And then when you voice your concern your family members tell you this is a good thing actually and just what the country needs, like it’s a little rain instead of a coup
The cognitive dissonance of getting up every morning and making coffee and walking the dog and going to meetings and answering emails and wondering what to make for dinner while there is a real live actual coup d’etat happening is BONKERS

Large print is now available! I’m so excited that our publisher has worked hard to make this a reality! It was important to us that a book with a visually impaired MMC would be available in large print for individuals and libraries to order. #BookSky

When I worked for a literary agency years ago, they told us, “You don’t have to tell people you rejected their submission for having LGBT characters. If a sub has that, just come up with a different reason to reject it.”

So yeah, behind the scenes, publishing often IS like that.

My wife dyed her hair rainbow again a few days after the inauguration. Just in case anyone was wondering if we were gonna tone down the queerness with everything going on.

Can’t wait for the library patrons to see her hair when her branch reopens!

There is absolutely no situation in which it is okay to use generative AI to “write” any part of your book for you. Generative AI is theft.

(Also almost everything it generates sucks and is often inaccurate, so good job, you stole other people’s hard work and made trash)
