Reminder for myself: RENEW YOUR LIBRARY CARD

Thank you to The Tennessee Holler for covering what’s happening when much of the media isn’t. They shared video showing a door being kicked in by ICE agents and agents refusing to produce a warrant when asked. Guns drawn and kids in the house.

Brown girl dreaming by Jacqueline Woodson is a really emotional read for me this year. I still don't know how to grieve a grandparent I felt I lost years ago. Woodson's writing about her grandparents always makes me think of mine.
A poem collection & memoir for my anti-brain rot reading challenge.

What a delightful read.

"I hope to fill myself with books."

Hello Dr. Shiffman! I want to read your book this year as my non-fiction pick, but wanted to ask first. Is there a place to purchase your book that gets you the most money as the author? I try to avoid amazon for books where I can and at least order through B&N, but wanted to check first!

My journal entry for Cixin Liu's The Three-Body Problem. I had a blast with this book, between taking guesses on what was happening and learning new scientific concepts. It was a very challenging read without ever being tedious. I can't wait to read the rest of the series! It also cleared some big

The Three-Body Problem was a wild read. It tested my understanding of physics and math for sure. 😂 The writing (translation) was beautiful and it never felt tedious even with the dense subject material.

TIL that Camazotz is a Mayan bat god, not just a Wrinkle in Time reference. Aclazotz in Magic the Gathering makes so much more sense now.

First book of the year done (I started it during winter testing)! Silverwing was delightfully weird. It's been so long since I've written journal responses to a book, especially a children's book. I expected it to feel challenging or awkward, but I guess it's one of those skills you never forget.

I guess at some point I am going to have to research Euclid, Euclidian geometry, Euclidian-based physics, and why things that are non-Euclidian are so loved by all these smart authors. Cixin Liu and Rebecca F. Kuang are killing me with this.

It's really hard to keep up with new mobility goals and literary goals when I start the new year with the plague.

Sometimes I have to remind myself that "good enough" is in fact, good enough.

One of the ideas I'm tinkering with for 2026 is posting about my reading journal and thoughts across social media platforms consistently. I made a TikTok sharing the start of my first ever reading journal today!
