I accepted his request in good faith and lent him the only 10-quid note I had in my pocket. Now the coffee shop is about to close, and he never showed up. 20 minutes left to prove I’m not a fool – the last time I had money stolen, I was also just trying to help someone find their way…
On my way to the coffee shop I frequent, a man approached me asking for help. He said he needed some money to refuel his tank so he could drive to his mom, and he promised to stop by the coffee shop to return me the money. He looked worried but was incredibly polite.
