Mike has been hearing it a ton at his school (and of course tells the kids that’s not okay). I have heard it at mine too.

When it’s a 6 year old Hispanic kid saying it to a 6 year Marshallese kid, for example, it’s more complicated than that. They are reflecting their parents fears and what other people have said to them. It breaks my heart.

“I hope you get deported by ICE” has become a common insult in elementary schools. This is unacceptable.

Finally finishing some of my cross stitch pieces from the past 3 years. It’s not my favorite part of the process but it’s so nice finally have it on display. #cloudsfactory

The energy in an elementary school after 3 days of indoor recesses is not for the weak.

Today a terrified parent came to my school wondering what will happen to her kids if ICE picks up her and her family and nobody is there to pick them up afterschool. It was heartbreaking.
