Adonis Blue for #butterflyweek. Found in species rich grasslands here in #Sussex, the larvae feed on horseshoe vetch and secrete honey dew from a gland, which attract ants. In return for the sugar fix, the ants carry them into their nests protecting them from potential predators and the cold.

So happy to see these cover crops on the #SouthDownsWay. Red clover and Phacelia fix and retain nitrogen in the soil, sequester carbon, improve soil structure and attract pollinators. The field was buzzing with life and looks beautiful too. #sustainablefarming #climatecrisis #biodiversity #Sussex

Really recommend listening to this @divideclass.bsky.social podcast. Many will have educational experiences which resonate and it’s a thoughtful, humane and much needed examination of social inequality in Britain. Beautifully presented by Curtis, I may add.
In our latest episode we speak with parents from all over Brighton who are asking themselves how to balance protecting their children with living their values of equality. This is one not to miss.
