www.nature.com/articles/d41... Great article on the research advances of the future in search of the holy grail for burn patients. THIS IS WHY WE NEED TO FUND SCIENCE!!!! @wiscsurgery.bsky.social 🧪🔬 @altnih4science.bsky.social
Will the latest skin substitutes revolutionize the treatment of burns and other wounds?
Engineered multilayered tissues are showing great promise in the clinic, and could also provide more-accurate models for studying skin disease.

We must not stop speaking up.

Hearing so many powerful voices–from American families to congressional leaders–has left me filled with hope for the fights and work ahead.

I may be tired and a little hoarse, but as I said again and again on the Senate floor, this is a moment where we cannot afford to be silent, when we must speak up.

Early and sustained nonbiased academic/industry partnerships are vital. Current attacks on NIH funded research will increase the risk of poorly interpreted studies when the brain drain takes effect. @altnih4science.bsky.social @facs.org @nature.com

Please forward this thread on Bhattacharya’s terrible recent writing to as many people as you can.

Jay Bhattacharya has his Senate hearing today, and the NYT publishes a fawning opinion essay about him (just as happened during the Kavanaugh and Gorsuch hearings). People are trying to whitewash him.
Another thing that should scare all scientists from Bhattacharya's CV:
In 2020 he pivoted to popular press COVID denial work.

Here's his "commentary and op-ed" CV section.

It is frightening. Article after article in the far-right press attacking science.
