Shout out to my fellow pediatricians — screening for iron deficiency is so important in adolescent females. A CBC and Ferritin are so easy (and cost-effective) to order, even in subspecialty clinic!
Our study found that nearly 40% (!) of 12-21 yo females are iron deficient.

Ten out of ten for ambiance at the new Hotel Bel Air bar during my LA visit. There are the BEST Norman Seeff photographs hung on the wall, including my favorites of Ray Charles, Tina Turner, and Cher. It’s worth a visit for the artwork alone. Also don’t forget to see the swans outside ☺️
