Antarctica again ❄️😍🇦🇶
Our @alexandrazuhr.bsky.social is back in Antarctica! 🐧
Currently, she is maintaining ApRES systems near Neumayer station and preparing for the traverse to Kohnen station in a few days. Stay tuned for more updates from her field season! ❄️

Nice talk by @Alexandrazuhr.bsky.social at #EGU2025 about the surface mass balance history in East Antarctica. Do we see an increase in surface accumulation rates in the last decades? I think we do. This would at least be one component that buffers against sea level rise

I’ve updated this Starter Pack for ice-sheet researchers with a bunch more profiles.

What an incredible experience! I was honored to be part of the Geoshow Unterirdisch yesterday, sharing insights about polar research and fieldwork ❄️ I hope I was able to inspire some of the kids to pursue a future as polar scientists! 😊
Our @alexandrazuhr.bsky.social showed more than 400 school kids during the Geoshow Unterirdisch at @unituebingen.bsky.social what ice core drilling and life as a researcher in Antarctica looks like 👩‍🔬❄️

We were there to support her and also learned a lot about volcanoes and deep sea drilling 🌋⛴️

Check out my @geophys-tuebingen.bsky.social group! We're doing all kind of geophysical measurements in ❄️icy❄️ areas to learn more about basal melt of ice shelves, the ice-bed interface and the surface mass balance of the driest areas in Antarctica!
We also made it to BlueSky!
Follow us to learn more about our work on ice sheets and glaciers ❄️
