Climate change could be a populist talking point for Democrats. Here are some ideas 🧵
If I was at the NRCC (National Republican Congressional Committee) I would be shitting my pants right now. Randy Fine only got about 56% of the vote in the same district Waltz (group chat guy) got 67% in the November election. No wonder they pulled Elise Stefanik's nomination.

Must read politics book. TLDR; rural voters are weird, irrational, and hold wacky grievances. The path to electoral success in rural and red america requires respecting and listening to opinions dem talking heads would likely consider stupid.

It looks looks like Greenpeace now has to pay around $660 million after losing Energy Transfer's SLAPP suit over DAPL protests. For reference Energy Transfer made about $82 billion dollars in 2024.

Greenpeace ordered to pay more than $660 million to fossil fuel company over pipeline protests

This is actually a really big deal. The world could have hundreds of millions, even a billion, more people than previously thought.

My mentality for all election post-mortems this cycle is that 10+ factors played to democrats losing, and we have to address many of these issues separately and with urgency to win going forward. Ex: Gen-z men, BIPOC voters, huge dem turnout drop, right wing media ecosystem, etc

We have to stop lying to ourselves: Joe Rogan, inflation, and immigration are not the only reasons democrats lost. There is fundamental rot at the core of the democratic party that we have to fix. It starts with not running candidates that are charisma black holes.

I've listened to all the Donald Trump and JD Vance manosphere podcast interviews. I think the left is seriously underestimating how likeable and appealing JD is. He's going to be the 2028 GOP nominee and we need to start working on better attacks than he's a couch f'er.

The GOP calls every single Democratic candidate an open border woke socialist for just breathing. Let’s use that to our advantage. No matter what Dems do the attacks will be the same. We have nothing to lose by pushing economic populism and anti-establishment.
