About quests, I can't fully judge, but some seem to be quite similar in terms of interestingness to the addon.

In the new one, we have many locations but they are just empty. You can even miss some of them (Cement factory and Cooling Towers). No, of course, you can found something interesting there, but this is not enough. A-life could somehow fix it, but for now it's broken.

I personally, as fan of Stalker, think that Call of Pripyat is better than Heart of Chornobyl. Addon is attractive with it's gameplay and quests. Three big locations, but every part of them is interesting, some quests have very different lines, could suddenly activated and continue the same way.
