Re the recent performance post. We did remove it in the end to rework the image to make it clearer that it isn't a comparison yet.

We will repost it tomorrow πŸ‘

100% I also mention these are subject to change and are in active development.

These stats are to pique interest, not frame any framework as bad.

This is great. Thank you for raising a PR; I'll take a look.

The main point of sharing these snapshots is to help get engagement and contributions like this. The stats are still in active development.

The site is not live yet, and we are currently setting up a monthly framework author catch-up.

100% it is and this makes it hard to convey these in posts. Which is why we're building a site that measures stats across dev and run time. One of the key focuses will be showing the differences between these frameworks, nuances, tradeoffs in testing, what frameworks are best at what extra...

100% agree with you. The website we're putting together will capture and display these nuances.

Have you considered Jira……..

@apisyouwonthate.com, latest newsletter is out. A jam-packed issue covering a terrible train API, how sustainable APIs lead to performant APIs, the Express 5 migration, and more.

Sustainable APIs
A well designed system can provide utility while reducing overall energy use. Also in this newsletter: Clerk's API Keys product, Express 5.0, Ktor, and an illustrative HTTP code cheat sheet.

A very interesting thread from @willow.sh, why would you make a package called β€”frozen-lockfile?
Did you know there are at least 139 packages on npm that start with a hyphen/dash? Curiously some of them look like CLI flags!

--frozen-lockfile
--fix-lockfile
--legacy-peer-deps
--ignore-scripts
--ignore-workspace-root-check

You've also got the package with a single dash for a name `-`

I can find them in the search but when I click on them I get a 404

one of the most exciting projects we have in @e18e.dev right now is to measure/track perf of all popular meta-frameworks

if you're interested in this or maintain a framework, reach out! its a fun, difficult project πŸ˜€

& we're very lucky to have @alexanderkaran.bsky.social leading it (no pressure πŸ˜‚)

I think the best part of open source is the amazing people you meet and learn from. Honestly been blown away and learnt so much in the last two months than I have in most jobs.

Next project I promise
January 26, 2026 at 9:50 PM
I think no matter what we do we will always miss something. I think as long as we make it clear what we're measuring and any trade offs we made it will be fine. Then of course just slowly adding more comparisons for different things.

we're working on a new project for tracking the performance of meta-frameworks over time

think DX (build times, install size, etc), and runtime (rendering time, runtime size, etc)

if you're interested in this area, join us in discord in the perf-tracker channel πŸ™

You can find our initial plan here: github.com/e18e/framewo...

We will include more meta-frameworks over time. If you think one should be included that’s not on the list open an issue for discussion 😊.
