I know they say you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but I do it all the time. I reckon it's saved me from reading some really shit books.

I haven't followed the news much over Christmas, but has Trump really just decided, on a whim, to invade Venezuela, remove the president and take over?

I've read a bit online, and that's what it looks like. But is there more to it than that? Some excuse about drugs and immigrants? This is wild.

Just spent the afternoon loading up my Vita with anything I'll need to emulate for the new volume of shows 😁

Damned if I can get Defender running on anything though. Always had issues with that in MAME etc.
As the book closes on Volume 14, what better time to reveal what we have in store for Volume 15?

We forgo the usual format for this monthly, to discuss what games we're covering over the next twelve months.*

Support Cane and Rinse for just $2 per month and find out what's in store.

Happy 2026!

Damn holiday hours. How's a man supposed to enjoy a sneaky chip shop supper on the way home from work when they're all closed?

But... why? He's faced two 'proper' (and not retired) boxers in the ring and lost to them both. Boxing is a farce if he's offered a title fight. Makes an absolute mockery of the sport.

Replaying Ori & The Blind Forest. One of very few games I ever 100% completed before, but it's been long enough I don't remember much.

This might be the best Metroidvania ever made, I certainly can't think of one that has such good movement and traversal of the areas. Ori is so fluid and agile.

Hello, would Edinburgh be nice to visit in February, or would it just be too cold to enjoy properly?

Remember that episode where Sam Beckett Quantum Leaped in to the body of a boxer and instantly wondered what the fuck was going on?

Was half joking earlier when I said I was setting my alarm for 3am for the Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua fight.

My ten year old overheard me.

And now here we are.

I asked Richard a question and got a badge for my effort! Thanks Richard! (And Chris, who probably posted it out...)

David Walliams? A wrong 'un?

Well, I think I can speak for all of us when I say I never saw that coming. A mile off. In neon flashing lights.

Vile, predatory man. Always has been.

I was disappointed that Aldi aren't doing the Bakewell Jaffa Cakes again this Christmas, but heard a rumour earlier about Sainsbury's taking them on.

Oh yes. It's true. The rumour is true.

That's £2.49 for all four parts! And @2plus2isjoe.bsky.social used to go on about it so it's been on my wishlist for ages...

The Silksong talk tailed off pretty quick, huh?

I played about 30 hours then just stopped at Act 2. Anyone still playing?

They don't make 'em like this any more. Etc.

Reminded of how great this song was whilst buying vinyl for my eldest for Christmas. He's got some Fugazi, some Pixies and some White Stripes.

Kentucky Route Zero - another victim of Netflix bullshit. Game included with subscription, license runs out, gets removed from mobile stores so you can't even buy it, despite there being a perfectly working Android version. Same with the two Golden Idol games.

Absolute shite.

@herring1967.bsky.social I was on a work meal out and ordered Margherita pizza with onions and a side of onion rings. The server said "someone likes onions!"

I replied "RHLSTP!" and she looked at me blankly. Thought I might have found a friend.

Are there any videogames that are just a straight up game of poker - no crazy cards, no powerups or cheating - with a story mode?
