One of the weirdest Champion Digimon ever

I mean, yes, the anime explains this as a natural thing, but, like... Who at Bandai thought that what looks like a dog should be the Rookie stage, then should mainly become a cat, then do the sexy angel lady as the Ultimate?? Why couldn't this be like Patamon where the Rookie stage is this little wing-eared thing with an angel as the Champion level? To anybody either new to the franchise or is just now learning that this exists: This is the most bonkers shit you will ever have to face, and what you're seeing isn't even the weirdest decision for an evolutionary line. They turned an armadillo into a fucking insect, for God's sake! Or a DINOSAUR! THEY EVEN MAKE IT INTO A SUBMARINE!!
