@jedkmeshew.bsky.social does the ufc's non ppv model mean that they'll be more willing to put on Euro shows at our time rather than 3am etc? Which might create squirrely matchmaking for the ufc to scoop up cash in big fights - paddy (doesnt deserve caps or a title shot!)V BSD in a stadium in Paris?

@jedkmeshew.bsky.social Once a year you and Mike should choose a dogshit (copyright jack Slack) apex card and have a watch party and treat it with the kind of enthusiasm and anticipation you would for a 300 style card. It'll be fun if its as terrible as you expect & fun if it's actually ...fun

@jedkmeshew.bsky.social Do you think that due to the need for it to be an unarguably great card-there could be a logjam of great fighters not fighting next year until after the white house card because Dana would want any drop outs to be replaced by equally big names ? (highest of F.A.R.T. scores!)

@jedkmeshew.bsky.social do you think there's a comparison to be made between Brian Ortega and Travis Browne ? They were both in potential future champion convos early in their career then..they hit a wall (and were hit by other fighters!) and their momentum went the other way -weight cutting aside

@jedkmeshew.bsky.social .....to follow up- from the ufc's point of view if that happens- they won't be scrambling to fill a main event now that they've already been paid in advance for it - unlike ppv's which need the draw of the main event to justify fans paying for it

@jedkmeshew.bsky.social unintended consequence of new tv deal re pay structure- do you think fighters more likely to pull out of headline/championship fights if opponent misses weight/ is replaced last minute as there's less money 4 them if not ppv thus changing the risk /reward ratio?
