This hummingbird was a great photo subject. Sat still on this branch and kept occasionally moving its head to let the sunlight interact with it's feathers in different ways to show off the iridescence in them.

Was a huge Pseudohemihyalea edwardsii #moth party at the light trap, had at least 80 come by. Got a nice shot of this one and its pink abdomen.

Spotted my first Biston sinuaria #moth this weekend, came to my light trap and hung around all morning

A white moth with grey and black line decorating it's wings and a hefty fur coat around the head, it's resting on a piece of wood. A low angle shot of the same moth from it's front show it's face, you can make out more legs and the the tall fuzzy protuberance off the back of the thorax.

Black Phoebe above some water, it mid flight trying to grab little fishes from the water and so looks like it's floating with the beak open and the tips of its beak in the water and the wings pointed back and up as it hovers. A reflection of the bird can be seen in the water below though distorted by waves.

Identifying this moth (Edward's Glassywing) meant I got to learn about Henry Edwards the first "actor-entomolgist" whom I've ever heard of. He seems to have been really quite effective at these seemingly disparate jobs.

And it's really pretty.
