Thank you, teachers. 💕
Crowded classes, vanishing programs, overworked teachers—it all adds up. Alberta’s kids deserve better. Teachers are standing up for them. #KidsCantWaitAB #StopTheExcuses

For anyone wondering why I'm so adamant that geotech & site readiness planning is critical. "Work on two... schools in west Edmonton is taking a backseat... after the province identified potential issues regarding soil stability..." So, from a 2023-2029 timeline to 🤷‍♀️. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...
Soil stability concerns force construction pause at 2 public schools coming to west Edmonton | CBC News
Two schools set to be built in the Rosenthal and Edgemont neighbourhoods may need more time before they can open their doors after the province identified issues with soil at the sites.

Mayor Kramer has been one of my favourite people to work with this term through our service on the Homeland Housing board. He's thoughtful, kind, and wickedly smart. Westlock is lucky to have him!

I was stuck in a freezing cell without explanation despite eventually having lawyers and media attention. Yet, compared with others, I was lucky

I did say that.
St. Albert is removing the Grandin name from municipal assets and renaming the Grandin neighbourhood.

The meeting preceding the decision included some public discussion that, one councillor suggested, amounted to revisionist history/settler colonialism.

Such a great film. "It's a movie that is really about people being very nice to each other... There are fewer and fewer spaces that are not predicated on opposition and cruelty, winners and losers, and pitting people against each other." www.cbc.ca/news/canada/... #MatthewRankin #UniversalLanguage

What's a fair compensation for a role like this, considering the time commitment, lack of stability, etc.? I don't have a particularly educated opinion about what the figure should be & I prefer these kinds of decisions to be based on transparent metrics, but I'm not sure what's appropriate.
While Albertans struggle to pay their bills, today, UCP MLAs voted to give THEMSELVES a raise and boost their own caucus budget by more than $1 million.
